National Compliment Day

National Compliment Day was actually last month - January 24th - but it's not too late to celebrate. It's a great, easy and inexpensive way to pay a kindness to someone.

What a great holiday! It costs you absolutely nothing, it brings joy to another, and your simple words can change someone's day.

Take just one moment today and pay someone a compliment. Make it sincere and better yet, do it to someone you usually wouldn't. You can find one thing, even in someone you don't get along with, to compliment. Your kind words may just be the turning point in your relationship.

Our Values

Values reflect a person’s sense of right and wrong or what “ought” to be. “Equal rights for all”, "Excellence", and “People should be treated with respect and dignity” are examples of values. Values tend to influence attitudes and behavior. Cultures have values that are largely shared by their members.Values are related to the norms of a culture, but they are more global and abstract than norms. Norms are rules for behavior in specific situations, while values identify what should be judged as good or evil. Flying the national flag on a holiday is a norm, but it reflects the value of patriotism. Personal values provide an internal reference for what is good, beneficial, important, useful, beautiful, desirable, constructive, etc. Over time the public expressions of personal values, that groups of people find important in their day-to-day lives, lay the foundations of law, custom and tradition.
